What makes you a great Athletic or Sports Therapist?

You are dedicated to honing your exceptional education with ongoing skill building.

Athletic therapists are skilled at identifying injury mechanisms, signs, and symptoms, and performing physical and orthopedic tests to diagnose injuries.

You focus on providing excellent injury management.

Athletic therapists design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs to help patients recover and return to their activities, whether it’s playing competitive sports or daily activities.

They also utilize a variety of manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription, and bracing/taping to address musculoskeletal injuries.

You promote clear goals, prehab support and a return-to-play program planning.

Athletic therapists are Goal-Oriented. The ultimate goal is to help patients return to their desired level of activity and function, whether that’s playing sports or engaging in everyday tasks.

All of our athletic therapists offer an Individualized Approach.
They understand that every individual and every sport has unique needs, so they tailor their treatment plans accordingly.

Essential Qualities of an Advanced Athletic Therapist:

  • Adaptability:Athletic therapists are adaptable and able to respond to the dynamic needs of athletes in various settings, including major games and clinics.
  • Strong Communication Skills:They build strong relationships with patients, communicate effectively, and motivate them through their recovery journey.
  • Physical Fitness:They need to be physically fit to handle the demands of on-field care and provide hands-on treatments.
  • Preventative Measures:They also play a role in injury prevention by educating athletes on proper nutrition, training techniques, and conditioning programs.
  • Collaboration:They often work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Advocacy:They advocate for their patients’ health and well-being, ensuring they have the support they need to recover and return to their activities.
